The Controlled Manufacturing Area (CMA) Operator I position assembles, inspects, and packages different components and devices according to written specifications and manufacturing instructions. Example Duties and Activities include following written instructions to hand assemble and inspect a variety of manufacturing components and devices in a controlled manufacturing area; boxing, packaging, and labeling complete sets and products in the processing flow; setting up, maintaining, and operating machinery; handling tools such as razor blades, hole punchers, and tabletop grinders and may use a microscope or magnification during the inspection and assembly process; using test equipment for product inspection such as calipers, pin gauges, meter sticks, meter scales, and micrometers; maintaining accurate and complete documentation reporting any quality problems or findings; working at different workstations following prescribed safety and quality requirements; adhering to the Quality Management System and its processes to meet ISO and/or other applicable regulatory requirements. Required competencies include no degree or credential requirements, reading technical documentation, manual dexterity, detail orientation, deductive reasoning, and operational adaptability & precision. Preferred competencies include being a resourceful innovator, performing test runs, and knowledge of quality standards. Other requirements include reasonable accommodations for disabilities, ability to perform hard physical work, visual acuity meeting 20/40 vision screening, and minimum age of 18 years.
