About the Role

The Company is in search of a General Counsel for its global travel business unit. The successful candidate will be tasked with the critical role of identifying, managing, and mitigating legal, regulatory, and corporate governance risks within the travel business. This includes ensuring that the business complies with all applicable laws and regulations, protecting the company's assets, and supporting its strategic and commercial objectives. The General Counsel will also serve as a trusted adviser to the Board and Chief Executive Officer, and may hold a key risk or responsible person designation in certain jurisdictions, with a corresponding higher level of personal liability. Applicants for the General Counsel position should have a Juris Doctorate and at least 15 years' experience managing legal affairs for a corporation. The role requires a candidate with deep legal and regulatory expertise, a proven track record of excellence in senior management counsel, and the ability to proactively anticipate and evaluate legal risks. The ideal candidate will be a self-aware, authentic leader with a strong commitment to integrity and ethics, and a passion for advancing sustainability. Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively across disciplines, cultures, and jurisdictions. While not a basic requirement, experience in the travel insurance industry is a significant advantage.
