As a Welders Helper at Reliant, you will play a critical role in the skilled labor landscape by expertly employing welding processes to fuse various metals. Your expertise will ensure the creation of strong, reliable weld shapes that form the backbone of robust infrastructure. Working with heavy machinery that emits high heat, you will melt and reshape metal, while also polishing and smoothing surfaces to achieve high-quality workmanship. To thrive as a Welder at Reliant Holdings in Pampa, Texas, you will need a diverse skill set that encompasses both technical knowledge and practical abilities. Proficiency in reading blueprints and drawings is essential for proper planning and layout of projects.

Operating angle grinders for surface preparation and using calipers and rulers for precise alignment are crucial tasks. Your role will involve welding components in various positions-vertical, horizontal, and overhead-using manual or semi-automatic equipment. Additionally, you will be responsible for repairing machinery by welding and filling gaps, as well as testing and inspecting welded surfaces to identify any flaws.

Maintaining equipment to ensure safety and efficiency is vital to your success, making attention to detail and a commitment to excellence paramount.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

• Reading blueprints and drawings and taking measurements to plan layout and procedures.
• Determining the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
• Setting up components for welding according to specifications.
• Operating angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
• Aligning components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamping pieces.
• Welding components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical horizontal or overhead).
• Repairing machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps.
• Testing and inspecting welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws.
• Maintaining equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
