Job Description
Overview:
The Transportation Manager oversees the efficient and timely operation of the distribution network, managing 5 supervisors and a team of over 40 drivers to ensure exceptional delivery performance and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage, mentor, and evaluate 5 supervisors and indirectly oversee 40+ drivers to maintain high operational standards.
Develop and implement delivery schedules, routes, and processes to optimize efficiency and meet delivery deadlines.
Monitor performance metrics, ensuring on-time deliveries, cost efficiency, and compliance with safety regulations.
Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to streamline operations and resolve issues promptly.
Address customer inquiries and complaints, ensuring high levels of service quality.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team productivity and operational effectiveness.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in logistics, business, or related field (preferred).
5+ years of experience in logistics or distribution management, with 2+ years in a supervisory role.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in route optimization software and performance tracking tools.
Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards.
