JOB TITLE: Driller – Quarry/Rock

REPORTS TO: Operations Director

SUMMARY OF POSITION:_____________________________________________________________________________

The successful candidate for this role will need to demonstrate accuracy and efficiency in the operation and general maintenance of all drilling equipment and efficiently complete paperwork that is required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Duties, Skills, Responsibilities and Expectations: ______________________________________

· Able to work in an independent environment with limited supervision

· View safety as paramount and continually works to put safety of self, co-workers, and equipment first

· Displays work behaviors that are honest and ethical in purist of Company business goals

· Complies with Company management procedures

· Perform Driller maintenance & inspection activities required for safe, efficient operation of assigned equipment

· Develop and maintain effective positive work relationships with co-workers, customers, vendors and agencies

· Understand different drill patterns and terminology and execute drill pattern and layout

· Effectively report ground conditions as drilling on hole logs

· Perform general housekeeping duties to continuously maintain safe, clean worksite

· Monitor drill controls and the progress of the drilling operations to necessary site/blasting/management team

· Understand and accurately complete and submit timely all required paperwork

· Knowledge and ability to comply with MSHA guidelines and regulations

· Responsible for loading/unloading tooling and supplies

· Adaptable with the ability to adjust to changing circumstances and adjust to new tasks and environment

· Mechanically inclined with ability to perform routine maintenance on drilling equipment and troubleshoot major problems with mechanic

· Other duties as applicable to the position.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: ___________________________________________________________________________

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Valid Driver’s License

· Ability to complete basic math calculations

· Ability to travel

· Pass Drug Screen and Physical

· Pass Background and DMV checks

· Minimum Age as required by insurance 20 years

· Must be able to read, write and follow instructions

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: __________________________________________________________________________

· Drilling experience

· Some mechanical experience

· Quarry experience highly preferred

· Heavy equipment experience

WORKING CONDITIONS: ______________________________________________________________________________

· Outdoors in all weather conditions

· Working may commence at different times and days

· Prolonged periods of sitting

· Physically demanding

· Ability to climb in, out of, and on equipment

· Ability to walk on uneven ground

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: ________________________________________________________________________________

· Loading/unloading tooling and supplies from ground level up to 5’ and amounts up to 50#

· Climbing, kneeling, heavy lifting, reaching

· Driving and heavy machinery operation using arm, hand, foot and leg control

· Effective verbal speaking and auditory perception

· Near, far and peripheral visual acuity
