The Opportunity RS&H is seeking a Principal Sustainability Consultant to join our Environmental Stewardship and Resilience (ESR) team in the western United States (hybrid or remote in Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Salt Lake City or Denver)! This individual will be part of the ESR market segment, providing environmental stewardship, sustainability, resilience planning, permitting, and consulting services to Aviation, Transportation, Municipal, and private clients nationwide. As a senior member, the individual will help identify and incorporate sustainability measures to enhance project resilience and mentor junior staff. The role involves supporting ESR activities, project pursuits, and delivery firmwide. The ideal candidate will have strong writing skills and a broad interest in sustainability and resilience planning. Experience with the Institute of Sustainable Infrastructure’s (ISI) ENVISION rating system is important. Knowledge in energy, electrification, water management, wetlands, spill management, hazardous materials, environmental compliance, and sustainability programs is desirable. To be successful, you must: Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited program. Have a minimum of 15 years of applicable consulting experience. Be capable of mentoring junior consultants. Possess a degree in environmental sciences, engineering, planning, or related fields. Have strong communication skills. Be proficient in MS Office and ESRI ArcGIS. Be able to work independently and collaboratively under deadlines. Preferred Qualifications: ENVISION Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) Certifications like C.E.P., C.E., PE, PG, or similar recognized by professional societies or state boards. Understanding of NEPA documentation for projects is a plus. If this role excites you, please apply. The typical salary range in San Francisco is $170,000 - $205,000, commensurate with experience.
