Description

The faculty physician is responsible for patient care in the hospital and clinics, as well as research, educational, and advocacy initiatives as directed by the Division Chief and/or Center leadership. This role primarily serves the Level II NICU and nursery at Cedar Hill Hospital in southeast DC, a new facility opening in 2025, serving an urban population.

Qualifications

Minimum Education
Medical Doctor (M.D.) or equivalent from an accredited medical school (Required)

Minimum Work Experience

Required Skills/Knowledge
Knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in neonatology, including delivery room care and late preterm infant care in a Level II NICU. Understanding of legal and ethical standards, ability to evaluate patient problems independently, and supervise clinical staff. Commitment to Continuing Medical Education and adherence to legal and ethical standards are essential.

Required Licenses and Certifications
Full licensure and credentialing at Children's National Medical Center, board certification or eligibility in Pediatrics, and preferred certification in Neonatology.
