Maintenance Technician at Amrize summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, repair, welding, and preventative inspections on equipment and facilities at a manufacturing plant in Midlothian, Texas. The role requires operating various machinery and tools, reading blueprints and schematics, performing rigging and hydraulic tasks, and ensuring safety compliance. The technician also manages work orders, participates in shift rotations, and supports company health and safety policies.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing maintenance functions on all equipment and facilities in the Midlothian, Texas plant. Maintenance functions include repair, welding, preventative maintenance inspection, and installation of equipment.

Good mechanical aptitude is required for the position.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Operate forklift, manlift, light crane, drill press, cut-off saw, pipe threader, hydraulic press, iron worker, and various hand tools.
  • General layout, welding and cutting skills with ability to work from blueprints, sketches, or detailed instructions.
  • General rigging knowledge.
  • Repair equipment such as fans, screw conveyors, belt conveyors, reducers, bucket elevators, dust collectors, rotary feeders, vertical roller mills, ball mills, and other material handling equipment.
  • Have a basic understanding of hydraulics and be able to read schematics.
  • Respond to call-outs during non-work hours as needed, stay over if needed.
  • General knowledge of installation and care of bearings (roller, ball, and sleeve oil).
  • Coupling alignment knowledge.
  • Make preventative maintenance inspections and complete necessary forms and reports.
  • Make estimates of material requirements and prepare requisitions and reports.
  • Create and update work orders in the SAP system.
  • Perform all job assignments using prescribed safety equipment and procedures.
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts.

Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Additional Education: Trade school or training program preferred.

Additional Requirements:
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
