Job Summary:

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens, towels, uniforms, and other laundry items. This position ensures all laundry is cleaned to hotel standards and supports the housekeeping team by maintaining a steady flow of fresh linens and supplies.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Sorts laundry items by color, fabric, and cleaning requirements.
• Loads and unloads washers and dryers efficiently and safely.
• Uses proper amounts of detergents, softeners, and other cleaning agents as required.
• Inspects linens and other items for stains, tears, or damage and sets aside unusable items.
• Folds, stacks, and organizes clean laundry neatly by type.
• Delivers clean linens and towels to designated storage areas or housekeeping carts.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of the laundry room and equipment.
• Reports any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions promptly.
• Maintains stock of laundry supplies and informs supervisor when replenishment is needed.
• Assists housekeeping team with stripping rooms or other tasks during peak times as needed.
• Adheres to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Previous laundry or housekeeping experience preferred but not required.
• Education sufficient to read, write, and speak as needed for the job.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods standing and walking, frequently lifting, pulling, and bending.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds at times.
• Exposure to heat, humidity, and cleaning chemicals in laundry environment.
