Job Description

The role of Conference and Event Ambassador serves as Capital Event Staff’s ambassador to our clients and their guests, and our team members within the Company. The position will be responsible for portraying our company’s culture and mission at the assigned location(s). 

The Conference and Event Ambassador may be assigned to one or more accounts or locations and is expected to provide excellent customer service to our clients and their guests while maintaining a professional demeanor and appearance.

This position affords the Conference and Event Ambassador a flexible part-time schedule, and an opportunity to gain valuable experience working with employees and management from leading hotel brands, sporting arenas, conference centers, and other event venues.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Following Company’s Attendance, Appearance, and Personal Conduct policies without exception

• Provide first-class customer service to clients and their guests

• Address all approaching and departing guests with eye contact, a smile and a professional greeting

• Transport and set up equipment in designated areas

• Maintain general knowledge of the assigned venue or event

• Provide clients and guests with information regarding the assigned event, directions to restrooms, restaurants and other nearby outlets and facilities, times that the specific event begins ends, room locations

• Comply with company and client policies and procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements

• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities 

• High school diploma (or GED) and a minimum of two (2) years of related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and/or experience

• Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays 

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment

• Ability to solve practical problems and know when to escalate to management

• Self-starter with the ability to multitask

• Comprehend and execute oral and written instructions
• Professional appearance and demeanor

• Ability to walk, sit and stand for extended periods of time

• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs

• Ability to crouch, kneel or crawl to retrieve checked items
