The Shift Lead is responsible for assisting the Plant Leadership in managing total plant operations for an assigned shift and delivering superior customer satisfaction by driving results and exceeding expectations in the key areas of safety, service, quality, and cost. Displays functional knowledge of forklift, pallet repair and sort operations, and quality control. Assists with directing the work of the forklift, sort, repair, and shipping and receiving functional teams across the production floor. Assists with supervising the work of all production employees – monitors production and shipping schedules based on availability of raw and finished goods. Provide hands-on peer leadership to production staff to support training and development, evaluate, motivate, delegate and monitor their activities. Support plant administration to ensure compliance to established policies and procedures. Enforces policies and procedures to drive inventory accuracy. Fills in for Operations Supervisor(s) as needed. Qualifications include demonstrated ability to lead others, strong customer focus, ability to build consensus, work cross-functionally, and drive safety consciousness. Prior experience as supervisor or operations lead in a manufacturing environment preferred. Measures include daily production metrics, profit, and customer satisfaction. Challenges include staffing, quality, productivity, and turnover. Authority includes working autonomously or with limited access to immediate manager, staffing and productivity delegation. Key contacts include Regional Director, Plant Manager, Assistant Plant Manager, Operations Supervisor, Shipping & Receiving Coordinators, HSE Plant Supervisor or Lead, Quality & CI Supervisor or Lead. Skills and knowledge required include communication, delegation, shift planning, inventory control, and safety mindset. Physical requirements include lifting and carrying up to 78 lbs occasionally, pushing and pulling items with a maximum force of 34 lbs/feet. Languages required are English and Haitian Creole; Spanish is desirable. The role is not remote and requires working the 2nd shift from 3:00pm to 12:30am.
